Job summary

Hussmann offers a 12-week Marketing Internship program in which students gain real-life exposure to a marketing professional's day-to-day. You will collaborate across the organization to ensure brand-aligned messages reach Hussmann customers.

The internship runs May to August, includes hands-on content creation, campaigns, events, and a competitive Ideation & Innovation Challenge with a final business proposal presentation to leaders.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to relocate, if not local.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, customer communications, and sales enablement materials.
  • Create and update marketing content including presentations, brochures, digital assets, social media content, and promotional materials.
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud tools to assist with graphic design, content creation, and production projects.
  • Partner with marketing managers and cross-functional teams to support product launches, customer events, trade shows, and strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Help coordinate marketing projects and ensure content and deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
  • Tour Hussmann's manufacturing facility, Global Hub, and R&D Lab.
  • Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building activities.
  • Compete in the Ideation & Innovation Challenge.

Overview

Hussmann's Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader in the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann.

As a Marketing Intern in the 2027 Hussmann Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into the day in the life of a marketing professional. You will work across the organization to ensure messages are being delivered accurately to Hussmann customers in compliance with brand standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, customer communications, and sales enablement materials.
  • Create and update marketing content including presentations, brochures, digital assets, social media content, and promotional materials.
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, to assist with graphic design, content creation, and production projects.
  • Partner with marketing managers and cross-functional teams to support product launches, customer events, trade shows, and strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Help coordinate marketing projects and ensure content and deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
  • Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality.
  • Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events.
  • Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge.

Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation.
