Job summary

Langan is seeking an Intern/Co-op - Environmental in West Palm Beach, FL. You will assist with environmental aspects of land development projects, gaining exposure to field work, report preparation, and design documentation.

Join a collaborative team and work directly with environmental leadership, building hands-on experience in feasibility studies and site assessments.

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
• Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests and collecting data.
• Monitor construction projects by performing tests to evaluate contractor compliance with specifications.
• Identify solutions to field and/or laboratory problems and document results.
• Prepare reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
• Prepare standard logs and field forms (drilling logs, field investigation dailies, chain of custody logs).
• Learn data management and modeling tools for environmental media and engineering analyses.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking an Intern/Co-op - Environmental to join its collaborative team in West Palm Beach, FL. This individual will serve a key function in providing assistance with environmental-related technical aspects of diverse land development projects, both small and large scale. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner directly with environmental leadership and gain exposure to site feasibility studies which may involve field work, technical report preparation and calculations, pre-construction conditions documentation, design plans and specifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests and collecting and recording data;
• Monitor construction projects by taking various tests to evaluate whether the contractor or subcontractor has complied with job specifications;
• Identify solutions to field and/or laboratory problems and accurately document results;
• Prepare reports documenting field investigations and analytical results;
• Prepare a variety of standard logs and field forms (such as drilling logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs).
• Learn data management and modeling tools for environmental media, how to perform engineering analyses, and how to properly use field equipment;
• Conduct; file reviews, site reconnaissance, and prepares reports;
• Prepare laboratory data summary tables and figures;
• Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects;
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology;
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
• Working knowledge of GIS or environmentally related software, and Microsoft Office Suite applications;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
• Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments. Travel requirements may vary by position and may change based on business needs.
