Job summary

Maggy London Group in NYC offers a hands-on IT internship within a small, collaborative team. You will work directly with the IT team (EDI, SQL, and development) to keep people and systems running, tackling real problems from week one.

This role is hands-on, not shadowing, with on-site 15-20 hours per week. You’ll gain exposure to ERP, EDI, SQL, and cloud tools while supporting designers, production, and retailers in a national wholesale operation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Comfortable with macOS and Windows.
• Familiar with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
• Curious about AI tools and how they can improve work processes.
• Clear, patient communicator who can explain issues to both designers and developers.
• Organized, reliable, and willing to ask questions.
• Available 15-20 hours per week on-site in NYC.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line help desk support for NYC staff: laptops, printers, Wi-Fi, accounts.
• Set up, image, and deploy Mac and Windows machines for new hires and refreshes.
• Manage user accounts and permissions in Google Workspace and Slack.
• Maintain hardware and software inventory and update asset records.
• Help document processes and build out the IT knowledge base.
• Assist with network troubleshooting, patching, and routine maintenance.
• Support offshore teams in Vietnam and the Philippines with remote access issues.
• Pitch in on AI and automation projects and test new tools.

About Us

Maggy London Group is a family-owned women's apparel company with 45 years in the business and a modern point of view. We design and produce dresses and sportswear under Maggy London, Donna Morgan, London Times, Muse, and The Good Journey, selling to Nordstrom, Macy's, Stitch Fix, and other major retailers. Our HQ is in Manhattan's Garment District, with production and support teams in Vietnam and the Philippines.

We're a small, close team where IT touches everything: design, sales, production, logistics, and finance. We're also in the middle of a company-wide push to put AI and automation to work across the business, and IT is at the center of it.

The Role

You’ll work directly with the IT team (EDI, SQL, and development) to keep our people and systems running smoothly. This is a hands-on internship, not a shadowing gig. You’ll be solving real problems for real coworkers from week one.

What You’ll Do

• Provide first-line help desk support for our NYC staff: laptops, printers, Wi‑Fi, accounts, and the everyday "it's not working" moments
• Set up, image, and deploy Mac and Windows machines for new hires and equipment refreshes
• Manage user accounts and permissions in Google Workspace, Slack, and our other cloud tools
• Maintain hardware and software inventory and keep our asset records current
• Help document processes and build out our internal IT knowledge base
• Assist with network troubleshooting, patching, and routine system maintenance
• Support our offshore teams in Vietnam and the Philippines with remote setup and access issues
• Pitch in on AI and automation projects, from testing new tools to helping teams adopt them

Who You Are

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent self‑taught experience with something to show for it)
• Comfortable with both macOS and Windows
• Familiar with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi)
• Curious about AI tools and eager to figure out how they can make work better
• A clear, patient communicator who can explain a fix to a designer as easily as to a developer
• Organized, reliable, and not afraid to ask questions
• Available [15-20] hours per week on-site in NYC

Nice to have: exposure to Google Workspace admin, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python), Active Directory or MDM tools, help desk ticketing systems, or an interest in the fashion industry.
