Werner Enterprises, Inc. is offering an 11-week paid summer internship in transportation sales, business development, strategy, analytics, and operations.

The Intermodal Sales Intern position provides hands-on experience within our commercial organization and exposure to inside and outside sales. Responsibilities include supporting growth initiatives across Final Mile and Intermodal, performing market research, assisting with go-to-market strategy, and learning how Salesforce and Tableau enable

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in sales, networking, and relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Partner with outside sales to identify and pursue growth opportunities within Final Mile and Intermodal.
• Research new industries, customer segments and markets for opportunities.
• Support prospecting and lead-generation efforts, including outreach and tracking results.
• Evaluate go-to-market strategy and market position; develop growth recommendations.
• Participate in rotational training across Sales Operations, Sales Support, Rating, Engineering, and Operations.
• Learn how Salesforce CRM supports sales activity, pipeline management, reporting, and decision-making.
• Utilize Salesforce and Tableau to analyze sales data and identify insights.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Account Management, Operations on strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance customer experience.
• Support ad hoc analysis and summer-long projects; present findings to leaders.
