Job summary

REMPREX in Richmond, CA is seeking an Equipment Operator to support workload requirements in an intermodal terminal environment. You will operate cranes, side loaders, reach stackers, and hostlers to unload and load containers and trailers, while keeping safety and efficiency as priorities.

Responsibilities include pre/post-shift inspections, on-site coordination, securing loads, and complying with yard safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent intermodal facility experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
• Efficiency and time-management skills.
• Comfort with working above ground (5-6 feet).
• Ability to adjust to changing facility demands due to seasonal variances and client needs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Operate in presence of loud machinery.
• Able to work after-hour callouts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workload based on client needs with team members.
• Attend or facilitate pre-shift briefings.
• Perform pre- and post-shift inspections of equipment.
• Operate cranes, side loaders, reach stackers, and hostlers to load/unload containers and trailers.
• Ensure containers and trailers are secured prior to departure.
• Move containers/trailers from rail to designated parking in the yard.
• Move between on-site and offsite properties as required.
• Maintain organization of containers, trailers, and chassis in yard.
• Comply with regulations and yard safety policies.
• Communicate clearly to ensure safe, efficient operations.
