Job summary

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are essential, with experience in rail, steamship, port, or freight forwarder environments preferred. The role involves dispatching drivers for local intermodal operations, processing orders, tracing shipments, building driver relationships, and data entry in dispatch software.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of current dispatching experience.
• Experience with live dispatch functions.
• Experience with e-log, automated workflow and form messaging is highly desirable.
• Tanker or ISO experience.
• Knowledge of DOT, HOS & FMCSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and plan drivers for local intermodal / drayage operation.
• Ensure all customer requests are processed, including orders and pickup requests.
• Trace containers on rail websites to verify container locations, LFD, storage and rail billing.
• Build strong relationships with drivers and customers.
• Track and trace shipments for on-time performance and communicate status to the customer.
• Maintain a customer service attitude and provide excellent service.
• Enter and update data in company dispatch software for accuracy.
• Work and collaborate with other company departments.
