Job summary

CBSL Transportation Services, Inc. seeks a dispatcher to manage local intermodal/drayage, coordinate drivers, and communicate with customers. The role requires organizing tasks, handling conflicts professionally, and leveraging live dispatch tools.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of dispatch experience, knowledge of DOT/HOS/FMCSA standards, and experience with e-log systems. Weekly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of current dispatching experience.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Experience with live dispatch functions.
• E-log, automated workflow and form messaging experience highly desired.
• Tanker or ISO experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of DOT, HOS & FMCSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and plan drivers for local intermodal / drayage operation.
• Ensure all customer requests are processed and received, including orders and pickup requests.
• Trace containers on rail websites to verify container locations, LFD, storage and rail billing.
• Build strong relationships with drivers and customers.
• Track and trace shipments for on-time performance and communicate status to the customer.
• Enter and update data in company dispatch software for accuracy.
• Work and collaborate with other company departments.

Summary

The dispatcher will handle incoming and outgoing communication with customers, drivers and internal departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. The ability to respond to customer complaints and handle conflict in a professional and effective manner is essential. The candidate will ideally have experience with rail, steamship, port or freight forwarder companies and understands bookings & swings.

Duties include (but not limited to)

• Dispatch and plan drivers for local intermodal / drayage operation.
