Cornerstone Systems is seeking an Intermodal-Account Coordinator for our Burr Ridge, IL office. The Account Coordinator supporting the Intermodal Operations department represents the core of our Company’s operation as they are responsible for coordinating daily freight load movements on a national scale, while maintaining customer satisfaction in an extremely high-pressure, time-sensitive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, logistics or related field preferred.
• 1–2+ years transportation or logistics experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Determine the most profitable routing option.
• Schedule appointments per customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and carriers.
• Submit rail billing to railroads and equipment providers.
• Provide in-depth daily tracing of loads and participate in after-hours on-call rotation as needed.
• Back up for team members and participate in team leadership duties when required.

Job Summary

Cornerstone Systems is seeking an Intermodal-Account Coordinator for our Burr Ridge, IL office. The Account Coordinator supporting the Intermodal Operations department represents the core of our Company’s operation as they are responsible for coordinating daily freight load movements on a national scale, while maintaining customer satisfaction in an extremely high-pressure, time-sensitive atmosphere. They are a motivated, self-starters able to manage multiple projects at once within a fast-paced environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Determine the most profitable routing option.
• Schedule appointments per the customer’s requirements
• Send the carrier the load information and confirm carrier capacity.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and carriers.
• Meet performance objectives relative to self-inspection of the accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of customers’ requirements.
• Professional communication with carriers, customers, receivers, shippers, and railroads
• Manage equipment pool management, reconciliation, and reporting
• Submit rail billing to the respective railroads and equipment providers.
• Obtain In-and-Out times from all carriers
• Ensure loaded containers go into the railroad as scheduled
• Process accessorial charges incurred at origin and or at destination
• Audit and maintain work orders
• Release invoices
• Run various reports that will assist in properly managing customer orders
• Back Up for other team members and/or team leader, as needed
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation, providing occasional after-hours and weekend support based on team scheduling.
• Provide in-depth daily tracing of loads
• Ensure termination of empty equipment in a timely manner

Minimum Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred, but not required
• 1-2+ years transportation or logistics industry experience preferred, but not required
• Cost management experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Possess a strong sense of urgency and time management skills
• Ability to work well under time-sensitive, high-pressure, stressful situations
• High level of attention to detail required
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suiteand Excel
