Job summary

ESC Region 12 is seeking an intermittent employee to support the Upward Bound program in Woodway, Texas. This part-time role involves tutoring, assisting site coordinators, and helping with program assignments.

Ideal candidates are college students with availability for evening or weekend hours, strong communication skills, and knowledge of STAAR, SAT, ACT, TSIA and TEKS assessments to foster student success.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of STAAR, SAT, ACT, TSIA and TEKS Assessments.
  • Knowledge in ELA, Social Studies, Math and/or Science.
  • Office work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Upward Bound Site Coordinators
  • Tutor high school students in appropriate academic disciplines and assist students with high school and program assignments and projects
  • Develop and maintain professional communication between staff and students
  • Act as a positive role model, reflecting the appropriate social, academic, and interpersonal skills required for high school and college success
  • Ensure that students exhibit appropriate behavior during programming events
  • Abide by the ESC Region 12 safety guidelines
  • Support ESC Region 12 functions and core values

This part-time position (typically 20 or fewer hours per week) will assist and support the ESC Region 12 Upward Bound Program.This position is on an as-needed basis, and applications will be reviewed for experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a college student to gain experience in an educational environment, office operations, and work with well-respected teams that provide professional development training to our schools.

  • Assistthe Upward Bound Site Coordinators
  • Tutor high school students in appropriate academic disciplines and assist students with high school and program assignments and projects.
  • Develop and maintain professional communication between staff and students.
  • Act as a positive role model, reflecting the appropriate social, academic, and interpersonal skills required for high school and college success.

Education/Certification Tutor

  • High School/Trade School degree (Tutor)
  • 2 years college preferred (Tutor)
  • Office work experience, preferred (Tutor)
  • Bachelors Degree in Education (Instructor)
  • Master's degree in Educator preferred (Instructor)

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledgein STAAR, SAT, ACT, TSIA, and TEKS Assessments
  • Knowledgein the following content areas: ELA, Social Studies, Math and/or Science

Benefit Information

  • ESC Region 12 offers healthcare to employees working at least 10 hours or more per week.
Position Type: Part-Time
Salary: $15 to $30 Per Hour
