Option 1: Six months of office clerical experience involving typewriting in the service of the County of Los Angeles or in districts under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles.

Option 2: One year of office clerical experience involving typewriting outside the service of the County of Los Angeles.

Option 3: A certificate or Associate of Arts degree in clerical procedures or office administration from an accredited university.
To receive credit for your education, include a legible copy of all relevant official documents, including your diploma, transcript, or letter/certificate from an accredited institution with your application. This position requires a typing proficiency of 40 net words per minute (NWPM).
Candidates who have not taken the typing performance test or met the typing requirement, as mentioned above, will be provided with a link to the Los Angeles County typing performance test during the examination process.
No withhold will be allowed for this recruitment. Required experience, education, or certification must be fully met by the last day of filing and clearly indicated on the application.
A valid California Class C Driver's License or the ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
2 – Light. This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

Exam components are not subject to review by candidates. Multiple choice and/or simulation assessments are not reviewable by candidates per CSR 7.19.
If you have taken identical components recently for other exams, your responses may be automatically transferred to this examination. This exam contains test components that might be used on future exams, and your responses could be transferred to that exam.
We provide study guides and other test preparation resources to help candidates prepare for employment tests. While the guides may help in preparing for the test, we recommend reviewing all related materials that seem necessary.
Candidates who passed the assessment are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of six (6) months. We will use this list to fill vacancies throughout the County of Los Angeles, as they occur.
