Job summary

MITRE, a nonprofit engineering and advanced technology organization, seeks an Intermediate Systems Engineer to support enterprise systems and systems-of-systems. You will apply MBSE, Digital Engineering, and mission engineering techniques to analyze architectures, assess performance, and guide modernization efforts.

The role requires active security clearance and on-site work four days a week, across multiple government-sponsored projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• 2 years of experience in systems engineering and enterprise architecture.
• Experience in systems engineering, mission engineering, and enterprise system design, integration, and modernization.
• Experience in requirements analysis, architecture development, interface management, trade-space analysis, and system verification and testing.
• Experience in applying MBSE, Digital Engineering, data analytics, and quantitative analysis to evaluate system capabilities and gaps.
• Willingness to learn new tools in a government-sponsored environment.
• Active Secret clearance and eligibility for Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizen.
• This position requires a minimum of 4 days on-site.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of systems and mission engineering to identify areas where MITRE can provide impact.
• Apply MBSE, Digital Engineering, Mission Engineering, ML, and Data Analytics to assess needs and designs.
• Evaluate and compare alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
• Identify and develop metrics for robustness, resiliency, interoperability, and maintainability.
• Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change processes.
• Perform system design and development activities, including software development and modernization.
• Collaborate across government-sponsored projects within multidisciplinary teams.
