Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to apply systems, mission, and digital engineering expertise in support of enterprise systems and systems-of-systems for federal agencies. The role emphasizes MBSE, architecture development, and modernization using advanced techniques and tools.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in systems engineering with a relevant degree and be eligible for Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering and enterprise architecture with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years with a Master’s; or PhD with relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
Proficiency in programming languages for quantitative analyses (e.g., MATLAB, Mathematica, Python, R)
Must be eligible to obtain Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizen required
Minimum 4 days on-site per week

Responsibilities

Apply systems and mission engineering to identify and shape areas of impact with sponsor needs.
Use MBSE, Digital Engineering, Mission Engineering, ML, and Data Analytics to assess capabilities and gaps.
Evaluate and compare architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques and analyze large tradespaces.
Develop metrics to measure robustness, resiliency, interoperability, quality, and maintainability.
Lead requirements management, interface management, architecture development, and test and evaluation processes.
Perform system design, modernization, and architecture activities using MBSE and digital engineering.
Translate analysis results into actionable recommendations for U.S. Government agencies and mentor junior engineers.
