Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer in Ridgeland, MS with work across multiple locations including Baton Rouge, LA, Cayce, SC and Little Rock, AR. The role focuses on designing, coding, testing and analyzing software applications, with responsibilities spanning maintenance, testing and end-user support.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of programming experience, proficiency in Java and Gosu is a plus, and familiarity with Visual Studio,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 1 year: 1-3 years of programming experience.
• Preferred Experience: Java experience plus Gosu; Visual Studio (VB/C#); Git and DevOps experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform program maintenance for moderate complexity projects.
• Occasionally perform analysis and develop specifications on less complex projects.
• Test applications and features to ensure work is defect-free before end users.
• Provide technical support to various application systems; troubleshoot, analyze issues and fix problems.
• Report to management on project status as requested.
• Develop relationships with end users and IT personnel.
• Prepare and/or update documentation according to department standards.
• May provide guidance to Associate software developers.
• Night call may be required.
• Additional hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
