Summary of Job Duties:
The Phlebotomist supports all sections of the Clinical Outpatient Laboratory through proper phlebotomy techniques, specimen accessioning, processing, and related activities. Responsibilities include using correct blood collection tubes, matching identifiers, obtaining blood samples, resolving specimen and patient issues, and following all departmental policies. The position also assists with access coordinator duties and training new employees.
This is a split position with a Patient Care Tech role, supporting patient care activities such as vital signs, EKGs, dressing changes, patient interviews, and administrative tasks like scheduling. The PCT works under RN supervision and within departmental standards.
