Job Summary

The Phlebotomist draws blood samples for diagnostic testing, transports samples to the laboratory, and provides updates on test results to patient areas. Performs CLIA-waived routine tests or procedures in a clinical laboratory.

Job Responsibilities

• Gathers specimens, samples, or supplies and prepares them in a clinical lab environment.
• Uses venipuncture methods to collect blood samples and transports them to the lab.
• Ensures positive patient identification to reduce errors and adverse outcomes.
• Tracks sample progress and work orders, providing updates on results.
• Cleans and maintains work areas and equipment, documenting performance accurately.

Qualifications
