Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Network Support Technician - Intermediate to support US Army INSCOM missions, ensuring secure datacenter and remote-site operations. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, escalation coordination, and hands-on maintenance of networks and systems.

Qualifications include 5+ years in related roles, an active TS/SCI clearance, and DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 CE certification.

Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree or 2 years of related specialized experience in lieu of degree.
Experience: 5+ years of related experience; work experience must include at least 2 years of specialized experience.
Technical skills: Knowledge of network administration and support, and related hardware/software.

Responsibilities

Manage / Support: Support datacenter and remote-site operations, enforce security protocols, sustain system availability, and guide technicians.
Collaborate: Work with contractor support groups, internal technical teams, and end users to resolve issues and coordinate escalations.
Drive: Proactively diagnose issues, implement system and network improvements, and maintain performance in demanding locations.
Utilize: Use diagnostic tools, network management software, cryptographic devices, and systems administration expertise to maintain hardware/software/network components.
Monitor & Troubleshoot: Monitor systems, diagnose issues with tools, and resolve complex problems across datacenter and remote environments.
Configure & Maintain: Configure and maintain network components, OS, and system enhancements for reliability.
Install & Administer: Install and maintain servers, desktops, and cabling; administer LAN/WAN, accounts, security, and OS deployments.
Support & Escalate: Provide Tier I/II support for field/garrison sites, coordinate escalations, operate independently in austere locations.
Secure & Safeguard: Manage datacenter access controls and cryptographic devices/keys for secure operations.
Train & Assist: Assist with training and support to end users and junior technicians.
Repair & Maintain: Troubleshoot, repair, and sustain diverse hardware/software systems to ensure mission readiness.
