Position / Role

As a JZID Interior Designer, your role is to combine creativity and technical skills with a thorough understanding of the design and production process, in order to produce highly creative, environmentally conscious, and budget-responsive spaces for clients. You should have exceptional design skills, a background in workplace design or interior architecture, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You must be an integral part of your team and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Work under a Project Manager through all phases of the design process.
2. Perform Interior Design assignments including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, construction documentation, and construction administration.
3. Participate in the selection and presentation of finish selections, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
4. Generate Demolition Plans, Construction Plans, Power & Communication Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Finish Plans & Furniture Plans.
5. Complete construction documents, including elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for bidding, permitting, and construction.
6. Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts.
7. Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
8. Meet with clients, discuss their needs, prepare presentations, and present your work.
9. Handle construction administration including submittals, shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, change orders, client/construction meetings, and punch list.
10. Share in resource library organizations and maintenance.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field from an accredited school.
2. 5-8 years of interior design experience.
3. Licensed (RID) Registered Interior Designer.
4. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D, and other modeling software like Enscape is a plus.
5. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
6. Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
7. Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
8. Must be a US Citizen and/or permanent Resident legally working in the USA.
