Job summary

Munters is seeking an Intermediate Field Controls Technician to support advanced cooling systems at customer sites nationwide. You will troubleshoot HVAC and controls systems in the field and provide technical support to field technicians onsite and remotely.

Ideal candidates have 2-4 years of industry experience or a related trade school/certification, with strong reading of electrical diagrams and knowledge of HVAC components. Travel up to 75% and physical lifting are required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of industry experience or relevant trade school/certification.
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC equipment and controls systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of HVAC components including compressors, valves, fans, and heat exchangers.
• Experience working with equipment involving sheet metal, piping, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively—up to 75%.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in active industrial/customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer jobsites—up to 75% on average—to troubleshoot and resolve HVAC and controls issues.
• Provide technical support to Field Service Technicians onsite and remotely.
• Troubleshoot controls programs, HMI systems, and unit/system interfaces.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Support new product development and testing at Munters facilities.
• Assist with prototype builds and provide feedback to Engineering and R&D.
• Participate in Kaizen and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects.
• Work independently while collaborating with Service, Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting HVAC and controls systems, traveling to customer sites, and solving technical challenges in the field.
