Job summary

Munters is seeking a Field Controls Technician in Daleville, VA to provide hands-on technical support for HVAC and cooling systems at customer sites. Travel will be required to diagnose and resolve issues, support Field Service Technicians, and assist with prototype builds.

Preferred candidates have 3–5 years of industry experience, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and familiarity with ERP/MRP or CAD systems. Excellent communication and the ability to work independently are essential.

• Experience troubleshooting HVAC equipment and controls systems.
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP or 3D CAD systems is a plus.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer jobsites to troubleshoot and resolve HVAC and controls issues.
• Provide technical support to Field Service Technicians both remotely and onsite.
• Troubleshoot controls programs, HMI systems, and unit/system interfaces.
• Support new product development and testing at Munters facilities.
• Assist with prototype builds and provide feedback to Engineering and R&D teams.
• Participate in Kaizen and cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
• Support cost reduction and product improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise to Field Service and other internal teams.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Experience troubleshooting HVAC equipment and controls systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC components such as compressors, valves, fans, and heat exchangers.
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Experience with ERP/MRP or 3D CAD systems is a plus.
• Experience designing or working with complex assemblies, piping, valves, and heat exchangers is preferred.
• 3-5 years of industry experience and a Mechanical Engineering degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in active industrial environments.
