Blair + Mui Dowd Architects seeks an Intermediate Designer / Architect with 5+ years experience in commercial and/or institutional design to join our New York City team. Healthcare and laboratory projects experience is a plus; candidate will work on projects from master planning to complex healthcare and laboratory facilities for nationally recognized institutions.

The role requires leading a design team, coordinating with clients, and developing presentation drawings and construction documents.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience in Laboratory, Healthcare, or Institutional work through all phases of design.

Responsabilités

Collaborate with, and lead a team of designers in all phases of small, medium, and large-scale projects, under the direction of a Project Manager or Principal
Research and develop architectural design concepts that match the client and firm’s aesthetic, functional goals, and budget
Coordination with clients and running project meetings
Design and develop presentation drawings, construction documents, and all project related materials including administrative responsibilities
Field survey & existing condition documentation, as well as general construction observation and administration activities; Ability to travel preferred
Rendering and visualization skills a plus
Strong understanding of building codes including FGI
