Job summary

GM Defense in Warren, Michigan seeks an Interior Validation Engineer to lead validation of interior systems for defense and specialty programs. You will translate requirements into robust validation plans, coordinate tests, analyze results, and drive issue resolution through program launches.

You will collaborate with design release, systems engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure interior components meet performance, durability, appearance, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in vehicle interiors, product validation, testing, design release, quality, or related field.
• Experience developing and executing validation plans and test procedures.
• Experience with vehicle or component-level testing, data collection, troubleshooting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interior validation strategies, plans, schedules, tests, and acceptance criteria.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute validation testing in labs, vehicles, and supplier facilities.
• Lead test readiness reviews and ensure testing is accurate and repeatable.
• Analyze data, identify trends and failure modes, and communicate conclusions and recommendations.
