Qualifications

Aircraft interior installation experience preferred. Competent with computers. 3D modeling experience desired.

The compensation range for this role is $24.26 - $28.31 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined by factors including qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Minimum requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of installation, fabrication, or related experience; aerospace industry experience preferred

Position Purpose: The Interior Installation Technician II works under supervision to remove, install, and fabricate aircraft interiors, including items like trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structures, cabinetry, panels, and accessories. All work must meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Safely perform removal, installation, and fabrication of aircraft interiors, coordinating with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with procedures, paperwork, and quality standards.
  2. Use the material tracking system for parts demand, squawk tracking, and work sign-offs.
  3. Follow SOPs when using tools and equipment; maintain tools and shop equipment properly.
  4. Prepare and install interior items according to procedures and standards.
  5. Remove and reinstall fasteners, applying hardware correctly.
  6. Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use PPE as required; address unsafe conditions.
  7. Assist technicians with maintenance tasks under supervision.
  8. Adapt to schedule changes.

Additional Functions:

  1. Collaborate on process improvements using Lean Six Sigma and other techniques.
  2. Create simple patterns using standardized procedures.
  3. Support aircraft certification and testing, including flight tests as needed.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
  • Ability to use hand/power tools and equipment for interior installation/removal.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
