Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Interior Hard Trim and Overhead Systems. You will develop and integrate injection molded hard trim and overhead components into GM interiors, leading cross-functional collaboration to balance fit, finish, DFA/DFM, and cost.

This role requires a BS in Engineering (mechanical preferred), 4+ years in automotive development, and hands-on experience with 3D CAD, drawings, GD&T, and prototype validation.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or US equivalent (mechanical preferred).
• 4+ years of entry-level automotive experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD, engineering drawings, basic GD&T, and dimensional evaluation.
• Hands-on prototype builds, measurements, fit and finish assessment.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and communicating technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate injection molded hard trim and overhead components into GM interiors.
• Define requirements and manage design execution for fit, finish, DFA/DFM, and cost.
• Release of all components and approval of validation results.
• Lead and drive a cross-functional product development team.
