Job summary

Canoo is seeking an Interior Engineer to support the development of interior trim components, collaborating with design studio, suppliers, and engineering teams to test, validate, and release innovative interior designs. This role emphasizes early technical input, cross-functional coordination, and adherence to ECE/FMVSS regulations.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering with 3+ years in automotive interior work, plus hands-on Catia 3DX experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive engineering.
  • 3+ years of first-hand in interior experience.
  • Experience with Catia 3DX.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, develop and execute interior systems that comply with ECE / FMVSS regulations.
  • Work through the product cycle with technical input early in development by collaborating with design / styling and Engineering teams.
  • Participate in the iterative process with all stakeholders to deliver the optimal balance of form, function, performance, and cost.
  • Implement processes and material selections to achieve cutting edge interiors.
  • Complete and release interior components, sub-system, and detail designs, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering where required. Complete engineering change request and appropriate documentation (including drawings).
  • Collaborate with key interior system and plastic component suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups to ensure interior system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability

Job Purpose

As an Interior Engineer, you will support the development of interior trim components by working closely with the design studio, suppliers, and various engineering departments. This includes supporting all necessary testing, validation, and release processes – resulting in truly unique and innovative designs.

Responsibilities (80s of the Position)
