Job summary

Tessera, a national non-profit and government contractor, seeks a reliable Interior Electrician to support USAFA facility operations. You will inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems per NEC and DoD safety protocols, with on-call duties and strict security requirements.

This role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment across a range of commercial and industrial environments. The Electrician ensures all work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Colorado state licensing standards, and Department of Defense (DoD) safety protocols. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a secure, mission-critical setting.Typical duties include but are not limited to:I nspect, test, and diagnose electrical systems including lighting, motors, generators, and intercommunication systems .Perform routine maintenance and repairs on lighting systems, including lamp and ballast replacement, fixture cleaning, and re-lampin g .Install and repair outlets, switches, circuit breakers, sensors, and ground fault interrupters.Plan and lay out electrical work using diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and associated costsPerform lockout/tagout as required .Operate lift equipment to service lighting and elevated electrical systems.Perform minor electrical installations and upgrades in accordance with NEC standards.Distinguish wire colors and ensure proper connections during installations and repairs.Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and arc flash protocol.Perform on-call / standb y work as needed.Perform general maintenance tasks and support other trades as assigned.Work from ladders, man lifts, and in confined spaces or adverse weather condition.All other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical systemsValid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License in good standingAbility to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and NEC standardsFamiliarity with motors, generators, lighting systems, and control panelsExperience working on federal or military installations preferredPhysical Requirements:Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.
