Archinect, a premier San Mateo design-build firm, seeks an experienced interior designer who blends creative design with client-facing sales. You will guide clients from concept through completion, presenting concepts with authority and closing high-end residential contracts.

Responsibilities include space planning, material and finish selection, cabinetry layout, lighting design, and coordination with project managers to ensure budget and schedule alignment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of interior design experience in design-build, custom home, or high-end residential studios.
• Proven sales record with ability to close deals and communicate value to clients.
• Strong space planning, finish selection, and construction detailing; knowledge of Bay Area styles.
• Hands-on AutoCAD, rendering tools, and MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; credible client interactions.
• California driver’s license and reliable transportation for client site visits.

We are a premier custom construction and remodeling firm in San Mateo, delivering exceptional design-build projects across the Peninsula. We are looking for an experienced, confident, and highly versatile Interior Designer who thrives at the intersection of creative design and client-facing sales.

In this role, you won't just draw up plans—you will lead clients through their transformation journey, presenting design concepts with authority, building trust, and converting leads into signed construction contracts.

Core Responsibilities

• Client Presentation & Sales Closure: Lead initial client consultations, articulate design visions with confidence, and actively guide clients through contract execution for high-end residential projects.
• Diversified Interior Design: Space planning, material and finish selection, custom cabinetry layout, lighting design, and architectural detail specification for kitchens, baths, whole-home remodels, and additions.
• Project Collaboration: Work directly with project managers, estimators, and site supervisors to ensure design intent aligns with budget, structural feasibility, and construction timelines.
• Client Relationship Management: Act as the trusted primary point of contact from concept through completion, managing expectations, and selections.
• Showroom & Material Sourcing: Leverage local Bay Area vendor relationships to source custom fixtures, tile, stone, cabinetry, and soft goods.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of proven interior design experience within a design-build firm, custom home builder, or high-end residential design studio.
• Sales Track Record: Demonstrated ability to close deals, upsell design services, and confidently communicate project scope and value to discerning clients.
• Design Expertise: Strong command of space planning, finish selection, and construction detailing. Knowledge of Bay Area architectural styles and Peninsula building trends is a strong plus.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in AutoCAD, rendering tools and MS Office.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal presentation skills with an innate ability to establish instant credibility.
• Mobility: Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation for client site visits throughout San Mateo County and surrounding areas.
