Job summary

Gensler in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to blend creativity with business acumen, lead design teams, and deliver spaces that resonate with clients. You will program client needs, develop concepts, and manage space planning through documentation in collaboration with consultants and vendors.

The ideal candidate holds NCIDQ or RID, a Bachelor's in Interior Design or related field, 5+ years of experience, and strong Revit/3D visualization skills.

Qualifications

• NCIDQ or RID Certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field from an accredited program.
• 5+ years of interior design experience.
• Strong proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software.
• Detailed understanding of FF&E design and deliverables (furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications).
• Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.
• Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.
• Passionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated, efficient.

Responsibilities

• Program client needs and develop design through schematic to construction documents.
• Select and present FF&E: furniture, fabrics, color palettes, lighting.
• Create initial concept packages with a strong design story.
• Conduct space planning studies to meet client goals.
• Sculpt interior spaces with finishes, lighting, artwork.
• Lead day-to-day project coordination with clients and consultants.
• Communicate ideas through 2D/3D drawings.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, spec writers, and regulators.
• Participate in construction administration including submittals and value engineering.
