Job summary

Gensler seeks an Interior Designer to craft functional, beautiful spaces, leading design teams and collaborating with colleagues to elevate design quality in Nashville area projects.

You will translate client needs into concept, schematic and detailed designs, coordinating with FF&E, lighting, and finishes while maintaining design intent and project timelines.

Qualifications

  • NCIDQ or RID Certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field from an accredited program.
  • 5+ years of interior design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software.
  • Detailed understanding of FF&E design and deliverables (furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications).
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.
  • Passionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated, efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your experience to perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
  • Creates initial concept packages with a strong design story, to guide the design process through project completion
  • Conducts programming efforts through space planning studies to arrive at final approved plan that meet the goals of clients
  • Sculpts interior spaces as a holistic experience including specification of furniture, lighting, artwork and finishes/materials
  • Leads day-to-day project coordination efforts with the ability to prioritize deadlines, manage communication and coordination with clients and consultants
  • Communicates conceptual design ideas through 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings
  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Participates in the construction administration of projects - including review of submittals and finish samples as well as value engineering efforts to maintain design intent

Your Role

As a Gensler Interior Designer, you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will collaborate with talented colleagues to enhance Gensler's culture for design excellence, elevate the quality of design, and achieve recognition for our clients and the firm. You are a mix of strategic and creative, with the ability to create great form while embracing sound business strategy. Use your unique design perspective to lead design teams, develop next-generation talent, bring new approaches to the design process, and help our clients redesign what's possible.

Our annual base salary range has been established based on local markets.
