McMillan Pazdan Smith in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Interior Designer II to contribute to design and presentation drafting, planning, and furnishing interiors for public, commercial, and industrial buildings.

You will participate in all project phases, perform field verifications, research products, develop design criteria, produce drawings and specifications, and collaborate with project managers to meet client needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field.
Three (3) years related experience in a professional environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software.
Familiarity with Adobe software.
Experience with computer-aided interior design (CAID) software.
Good aesthetic judgment with an appreciation of balance, proportion, and color.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to effectively and confidently prioritize and execute tasks with many competing priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform field verification of existing spaces and documentation as needed.
Research interior products, furniture, and materials.
Apply established interior design standards in daily work.
Participate in all phases of design projects (programming to construction administration).
Work with clients to define project requirements and develop design criteria.
Create and present interior design concepts in response to client needs.
Design, sketch, and provide drawings (hand or CAD) with layout, furniture, and equipment locations.
Refine design to client satisfaction and present concepts.
Produce specifications for construction elements, furnishings, and cost estimates.
Produce construction documents.
Perform construction administration.
Prepare and maintain design schedules.
Manage design budgets and cost control.
Design and coordinate interior graphics and signage packages.
