Jobot is seeking an Interior Designer to join our Chicago team on-site, delivering LEED and sustainable interior design within a fully integrated AEC firm. You will work from concept to completion on a variety of markets, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to create functional, aesthetically compelling spaces.

We require a Bachelor's or Master’s in Interior Design (or related field) and 3–5 years’ experience, plus a strong portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or masters in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of professional interior design experience within an architectural, engineering, or design environment.
  • Experience contributing to interior design projects from concept through completion.
  • Experience developing design concepts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong understanding of interior materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to articulate design concepts.
  • Portfolio demonstrating interior design experience, creativity, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to interior design projects from early concept development through completion.
  • Develop design concepts, presentations, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Job Details

Bachelor's or master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Approximately 3-5 years of professional interior design experience within an architecture, engineering, design, construction, or related professional services environment.

Demonstrated experience contributing to interior design projects from concept through completion.

Experience developing design concepts, presentations, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.

Strong understanding of interior materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.

Experience with furniture design and/or the furniture selection and procurement process.

Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, clients, consultants, vendors, and other project stakeholders.

Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and project recommendations.

Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and project deliverables.

Proficiency with relevant design and documentation software, with strong technical and graphic communication capabilities.

Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Strong design sensibility combined with practical problem-solving skills and an understanding of project budgets and schedules.

Adaptable and willing to take on different responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle, proactively supporting the team when priorities change.

A portfolio demonstrating strong interior design experience, creativity, technical proficiency, and attention to detail.
