HGA in Sacramento seeks an inspiring Interior Design Department Leader to guide the strategic direction, creative excellence, and operational performance of the Sacramento Interior Design practice. As Senior Interior Designer, you will remain hands-on in project design and delivery while partnering with Principals to pursue and secure new work.

This role blends design leadership with client collaboration across a range of project types.

Qualifications

• Licensed Interior Designer with project delivery experience.
• 15+ years of professional interior design experience.
• Strong presentation skills with track record of securing new project work.
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and influence outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and ability to balance project responsibilities with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead interior design on multiple projects from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and city agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Develop design programming and interior design strategies to meet client goals.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and delivery timelines.
• Ensure designs meet accessibility codes, exiting, and life safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain involvement in project work while prioritizing department leadership responsibilities.
