Job summary

DesignMinds seeks an Interior Design, Ancillary Design and Systems Specialist to develop interior space solutions and curated product libraries. You will work with Sales, Coordination, Project Management, Design Leadership, Strategic Sourcing and Marketing, contributing from concept through installation.

The role emphasizes Ancillary products with systems knowledge; broad product knowledge is highly preferred. CAD/CET files, vendor engagement and design presentations are key activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in design field.
• At least one year of design experience.
• CIDA or NAB accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in RFP responses and interviews as an expert consultant.
• Generate, organize and maintain CAD/CET files.
• Draw, revise, and plot design drawings and space plans.
• Select and specify furniture, materials, finishes.
• Develop floor plans and installation drawings.
• Develop validation packages and spreadsheets.

Interior Design, Ancillary Design AND Systems Specialist

Overview/Position Summary

Works independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop interior space solutions to meet customer needs. Develops libraries of curated products and solutions informed by commercial furnishing trends and typologies. Will frequently collaborate with Sales, Coordination, and Project Management teams, as well as Design Leadership, Strategic Sourcing and Marketing. Involved in design projects and related tasks from inception to final installation.

This position has a heavy emphasis on Ancillary products. Systems knowledge is required. However, a broad and deep knowledge of Ancillary products is strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree, AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school will be considered. Must have at least one-year experience in the Design field. Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) or National Architecture Board (NAB) accreditation preferred. Prior experience with system furniture products a plus.

• Proficient in a variety of software: AutoCAD, SketchUP, and Microsoft office. Also desired is experience with CET Designer, 20/20 CAP, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Requires extreme attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven industry.
• Must have critical and creative thinking ability.
• Ability to be socially poised with an outgoing and fast thinking personality to provide exceptional customer service to internal staff and clients.
• Good time management skills, ability to multi-task and take ownership for project deliverables.
• Willingness to take direction and learn from others.
• Ability to draw/sketch by hand.
• Complex reading and writing skills, basic math skills.

Physical Requirements

Seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, hand and finger dexterity and ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices. Must be able to get to project sites. Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time.

Regularly works alone or may work with others face to face, over the phone, Video Calls, and through email/text.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with design proposals and presentations.
• Estimate budgetary hours and manage project hours and time entry.
• Work with local teams to perform field verification and inventory.
• Conduct product research and data collection.
