Job summary

Bespoke Careers is seeking an experienced Interior Design Project Manager in Los Angeles to lead complex commercial interior projects from pursuit through completion. You will oversee design execution, client relationships, team leadership, and FF&E decisions on-site in a collaborative studio environment.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in workplace design, strong Revit skills, and a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and budgets. Licensure is preferred and travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program or equivalent.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in commercial interior design, with workplace interiors experience preferred.
  • Professional registration or licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage workplace interior design projects through all phases of design, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Develop project fees, scopes of work, schedules, and delivery strategies for new project pursuits.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful delivery within established goals.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead, mentor, and support project teams, leveraging individual strengths and fostering professional growth.
  • Guide design and technical decision-making while encouraging collaboration and innovation across project teams.
  • Oversee the selection and specification of materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
  • Direct construction phase activities, including review of shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and project clarifications.
  • Coordinate closely with consultants, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee project quality control, technical accuracy, and adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive project team performance through proactive problem-solving and effective communication.
  • Support business development initiatives through client engagement, networking, and pursuit activities.
  • Lead client presentations and communicate design strategies, technical solutions, and project milestones.
  • Identify and resolve design, technical, and code-related challenges throughout project delivery.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in workplace design, space planning, project leadership, and technical detailing.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and managing complex projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and construction documentation.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, codes, accessibility standards, and project delivery processes.
  • Experience managing consultant and contractor coordination throughout all project phases.
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets, fees, schedules, and resource planning.
  • Strong commitment to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and client management skills.
  • Interest in sustainable design practices and industry innovation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
