Interior Talent, Houston-based design talent firm, seeks a Project Designer who thrives at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and execution within a collaborative studio. This role blends concept development with technical documentation in a high-performing environment.

You will contribute across programming, space planning, material selections, specifications, detailing, construction documents, furniture specification, and construction administration, while mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program.
  • 8+ years of experience in design.
  • Pursuit of professional license strongly preferred.
  • Sustainable certification (LEED, FitWell, or WELL) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey design strategy both internally and to clients.

Project Focus: Commercial Interior Design | Workplace Interiors
Working Style: Hybrid Working Style (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

We’re partnered with a highly respected, design-forward firm to identify a Project Designer who thrives at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and execution. As the Project Designer, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating thoughtful, impactful environments that help clients achieve their business goals. This role requires a quick learner who is eager to contribute across all phases of the design process, including programming, space planning, material selections, specifications, architectural detailing, construction documents, furniture specification, and construction administration.

Success in this position comes from a balance of creativity, reliability, professionalism, and confidence, along with a strong desire to continuously grow and develop. You will collaborate closely with fellow designers while actively contributing to design innovation, strengthening the studio’s creative culture, and upholding established design standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA or NCARB accredited school
  • 8 plus years of experience
  • Pursuit of a professional license strongly preferred
  • Sustainable certification (LEED, FitWell, or WELL Building) is a plus
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to collaborate and work well with colleagues.
  • Must have strong leadership skills that motivate and inspire teams
  • Must be able to develop and grow skillsets of team members and exhibit a mentoring and coaching mindset
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively convey a design strategy internally with a team and externally with clients
  • Must be self-motivated, research-driven, disciplined, and have strong organizational skills
  • Must be creative, seek out original ideas
  • Must be curious, always push one’s and explore what is next
