Job summary

Station Casinos LLC seeks an experienced Interior Designer to lead multi-project design efforts for hospitality venues in Las Vegas. You will define design criteria, standards, schedules, and cooperate with architects, interior designers, and vendors to deliver environments that meet concept and budget.

Responsibilities include preparing RFPs, reviewing bids, coordinating FF&E procurement, managing budgets, and reviewing change orders.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Interior Design and 5–10 years of related work experience in hospitality/gaming design.
  • Professional state registration and/or registration/membership in ASID or NCIDQ is desired.
  • Able to self-start and manage multiple project tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Define interior design concepts, standards, schedules, and design criteria for venues.
  • Prepare RFPs for interior design consultants, review bids, and assist in contracts.
  • Coordinate FF&E procurement, budget estimates, and purchase orders with vendors and Purchasing.
  • Monitor design progress, ensure drawing accuracy, and coordinate with architecture and other trades.

Job description

Has the ability to multi-task and handle multiple design projects, of various scopes and sizes, with direction but minimal supervision. Determines resource needs for projects; including architects, interior designers, subordinate staffing, or self-performed design tasks. Defines general design organization for projects including scope of work, interior design concept, design criteria & standards, schedules, and procedures. Maintains interior designer database; including potential designers, architects, consultants, FF&E procurement companies, vendors, and other interior design related firms. Prepares request for proposals (RFP’s) for interior design consultants, reviews bids, recommends awards, and assists in contract preparation of design work scope.Manages external design consultants including adherence to design concept, document quality, schedule milestones, and execution of finished product. Performs quality control of work produced to ensure coordination with architecture, MEPS, and other building trades.Ensures completeness and accuracy of drawings and interior specifications. Has the ability to make interior design selections on their own for small projects; including furniture, fabrics, carpet, and other FF&E selections for venues. Keeps abreast of current design trends, materials, and technologies. Maintains “design library” of FF&E materials. Assists and coordinates the FF&E purchasing, procurement, and installation processes with the Purchasing Director and FF&E manager. Includes specification development, shop drawing review, CFA approvals, schedule coordination, and purchase order review. Helps establish interior design and FF&E budget estimates for projects. Monitors design to ensure adherence to project budget.Initiates and reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.Advises design/construction director and department head regarding any potential problems on projects; including staffing issues, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could affect project completion and/or profitability.Reviews and maintains our department design standards and procedures policies. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate and requested from time-to-time.

Qualification:

Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form. 4-year degree in Interior Design and 5-10 years of related work experience in the “Hospitality/Gaming Industry” is preferable. Professional state registration and/or registration/membership in one of the following associations ASID or NCIDQ is desired. Able to self start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation. Able to make decisions on available information and take action. Able to organize time and work efforts effectively with minimal supervision. Able to relate to routine operations in a manner that is consistent with established protocol. Able to maintain a mature and professional attitude while dealing with time demands, able to work to tight deadlines. Attention to detail imperative. Computer Literate and Well Versed in the Use of Word, Outlook, Excel, Corel Draw, Power Point, Visio, Prolog, Sure Trak, Auto-Cad and Buzz Saw.
