Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an experienced design engineer to help design and develop components and systems that meet stringent layout, quality, cost, and performance standards. You will create 2D and 3D drawings, perform calculations and analyses, and drive prototype parts through to production readiness.

The role requires a BS in ME/EE and 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in creating necessary components, with the ability to work collaboratively or independently

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience creating components per specialty.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop components/systems to meet layout/quality/cost/performance and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and issue 2D/3D drawings/layouts, calculations and analysis.
• Recommend cost-effective design modifications supporting testing and mass production.
• Provide basic project management to determine timelines and coordinate team or individual work.

Conducts design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned products and systems.

Job Description

Conducts design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned products and systems. Designs/develops components/parts/systems in area of specialty to ensure that established layout/quality/cost/performance/development schedule standards and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded. Implements design ideas/features by preparing, checking and issuing 2D and 3D drawings/layouts, calculations and analysis and confirming prototype parts compliance with drawing specifications. Recommends cost-effective design modifications/improvements that support testing and mass production. Provides basic project management skills and is able to determine a project timeline. Ability to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.

Requirements

BS Degree in ME/EE. Design Engineer with over 5 years of engineering experience in actual creation of required components per specialty (concept, specification setting and layout creation and negotiation capability). Minimum of 6 years of related experience may be substituted for required degree.
