Job summary

Stantec in Arlington, VA is seeking a junior Interior Design Coordinator to support the design team and collaborate with architectural staff on space planning, interior architecture, materials palettes, and documentation. You will help progress toward interior design certification/licensure, participate in design development, and assist with construction administration tasks as needed.

You will utilize SketchUp, Revit, and Enscape to create renderings and assist in coordinating FF&E and signage

Qualifications

• Pursuing interior design certification or licensure.
• Interest in professional certification and licensure.
• Junior-level coordination experience or exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support interior design teams in developing design documentation and presentations.
• Assist in ensuring design documentation aligns with cost parameters and construction needs.
• Verify design compliance with building codes, ADA guidelines, and LEED requirements where applicable.
• Assist in selecting interior systems, materials, finishes and fixtures.
• Develop finish and material palettes and create 3D renderings using SketchUp, Revit, Enscape.
• Coordinate FFE and signage scope from design through bid, aligning with client standards.
• Attend internal and client meetings to observe and present design coordination.
• Contribute to professional organization involvement and pursue certification/licensure.
• Perform Construction Administration tasks to support the scope of work.

Your Opportunity:

You will be working on projects specializing in technical design under the guidance of a Senior Interior Designer. This is a junior-level Interior Design Coordinator role targeting someone who is interested in pursuing interior design certification and/or licensure. You will support the interior design team and work collaboratively with the architectural team in developing and documenting varying aspects of the interior design scope, including but not limited to space planning, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications, FFE, and signage.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Support interior design teams in the development of design documentation and presentation.
• Participate in the development of interior design in accordance with cost parameters and ensure interior design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.
• Assist in the validation that design complies with building codes, ADA guidelines, and LEED per project type and requirements.
• Assist in the selection of interior systems and materials, finishes and fixtures.
• Research and develop comprehensive finish and material palettes. Create 3D renderings utilizing programs such as SketchUp, Revit, and Enscape.
• Participate in the completion of FFE and signage scope from design and selection through bid, coordinating with specific client standards and project needs.
• Attend meetings, both internal and client facing, with goals of observation of the coordination of designs and direct presentations.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the profession and the firm by participating in and volunteering with a professional organization and working towards interior design certification and/or licensure.
• Perform Construction Administration tasks to support the scope of work.
