Job summary

Floor & Decor offers an interior design consultant role focused on in-store design solutions. You will meet with customers, understand project needs, educate on requirements, and craft design concepts aligned with client style, budget, and timeline.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, guiding clients through tile, wood, stone selections, and furnishing accessories while building lasting relationships. Excellent communication and basic math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up.
• Use company communication tools and emails consistently.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff.
• Engage in current and emerging design trends.
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce and MyProject.
