Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. in Springfield, IL seeks an Interior Associate II to support interior design projects from concept to construction.

You will collaborate with project teams to develop design solutions, prepare documentation, coordinate deliverables, and communicate with clients, consultants, and vendors. You will assist in programming, space planning, schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration, while mentoring Interior Associate I team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
• 3–5 years of interior design experience.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience required; SketchUp desired.
• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and presentation skills.
• NCIDQ certification in progress or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and delivery of interior aspects of projects, including programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Develop interior design solutions, finish selections, material palettes, furniture layouts, and presentation materials.
• Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
• Prepare and coordinate construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Provide design support and documentation to communicate design ideas from concept through completion, including renderings, graphic presentations, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to support project goals and schedules.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations while helping to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Assist with project administration, file management, quality reviews, and project documentation.
• Perform construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.
• Support and mentor Interior Associate I team members.
