Role Description The Interior Design Assistant is a part‑time, on‑site role located in Birmingham, MI. This position supports lead designers with space planning, developing floor plans, selecting furniture and finishes, and preparing presentations and mood boards. Daily tasks include organizing samples, maintaining project files, sourcing products, and assisting with vendor coordination and appointment scheduling. The assistant may help with on‑site measurements, installation oversight, and styling of completed spaces. This role requires consistent in‑person collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple design tasks under guidance from senior team members.

This role can begin as Part Time and transition to Full Time if necessary.

Qualifications

• Strong Interior Design fundamentals, including Space Planning and understanding of Floor Plans
• Ability to assist with Furniture selection and coordination of finishes and materials
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with designers, clients, and vendors
• Proficiency in basic design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) is preferred
• Relevant education in Interior Design or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail in a studio environment
• Ability to work on‑site in Birmingham, MI, and support occasional client meetings or installations
• Portfolio or samples of design‑related work demonstrating aesthetic sense and technical ability
