Job summary

Hawkins County Schools is seeking a licensed teacher to supervise students, develop lesson plans, and deliver instruction within established curricula. The role requires collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents to address instructional issues and student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Tennessee Licensed Teacher or eligible to obtain TN License with required endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Advises parents/guardians of student progress and communicates classroom expectations.
• Assesses student progress toward objectives/goals for feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Demonstrates and differentiates instructional strategies to address individual student needs.
• Instructs students to improve academics through a defined course of study.
• Manages student behavior to provide a safe, optimal learning environment.
• Monitors students in multiple educational environments for safety.
• Participates in meetings and professional development to improve instruction.
• Prepares written materials documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements.
• Reports incidents to maintain safety and adhere to laws/policies.
• Responds to emergencies and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Directs student teachers, instructional assistants, and volunteers.
• Regular attendance and effective interpersonal communication are essential.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure success of Hawkins County Schools.
