Qualifications

• BS Degree or higher; Tennessee Licensed Teacher or eligible to obtain a TN License with required endorsement.
• TN licensure must be obtained or verified as required by the district.

Responsibilities

• Advises parents or guardians of student progress and communicates classroom expectations.
• Assesses student progress towards objectives and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborates with instructional staff, parents and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Differentiates instructional strategies to address individual student needs.
• Instructs students to improve academic success within a defined course of study.
• Manages student behavior to provide a safe learning environment.
• Monitors students in classrooms and other school environments for safety.
• Participates in meetings and professional development to improve instruction.
• Prepares written materials documenting progress and meeting requirements.
• Reports incidents to maintain student safety and adhere to state law and district policies.
• Responds to emergencies and directs to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Responds to inquiries from various sources to resolve issues.
• Directs student teachers, instructional assistants, and volunteers to support the classroom.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Effective interpersonal communication with team members and stakeholders is required.
• Other duties as assigned.
