Job summary

The teacher will collaborate with staff and address classroom issues while engaging with parents about student progress and program outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher and Tennessee teaching license or eligibility.
• Endorsements as required for TN licensure.
• Eligible to obtain TN license with required endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Advise parents/guardians of student progress and communicate classroom expectations.
• Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback to students, parents and administration.
• Collaborate with instructional staff and administrators to improve classroom outcomes.
• Differentiate instructional strategies to address individual student needs.
• Instruct students to improve academic performance within the course of study.
• Manage student behavior to provide a safe learning environment.
• Monitor students across classroom, school grounds, and field trips for safety.
• Participate in meetings and professional development to improve instruction.
• Prepare written materials documenting student progress and mandated requirements.
• Report incidents per policy to ensure safety and compliance.
• Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns as needed.
• Respond to inquiries from teachers, parents, and staff for guidance.
• Direct student teachers and instructional assistants to support the program.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
