Job summary

Dickson County Schools seeks a Speech/Language Pathologist to provide assessment, therapy, and IEP-driven services at the assigned campus.

The role requires a TN teaching license with endorsement, CCC, and TN licensure; you will screen students, develop treatment plans, participate in IEPs, and collaborate with staff to support student outcomes.

Qualifications

  • TN Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.
  • Master's Degree and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
  • State licensure by TN Health Board (current).

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech screening tests for referred students.
  • Provide diagnostic/evaluation testing for students failing screening.
  • Create a treatment plan for students needing speech/language services.
  • Participate in and/or create a student's IEP.
  • Collect, maintain, report student performance data per IEP.
  • Provide therapy, follow-up, and/or consultation per IEPs.
  • Make informed educational recommendations/decisions.
  • Participate in ongoing staff development to increase knowledge.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidential records and provide timely reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Schools/Director of Special Education, or Administration.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  1. Provide speech screening tests for all referred students.

Standard testing equipment; standard office equipment, including a computer

Regular light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds), occasional heaving lifting (45 pounds or more) and positioning of students with physical disabilities; controlling behavior through physical restraint; assisting non-ambulatory students
