Job summary

The LaSalle Network is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Staff Accountant to support a healthcare client during a leadership transition. You will oversee month-end close, assist with financial reporting, and coordinate with the CFO interim leadership and Director of Accounting.

This contract role offers hybrid work in Chicago, approximately 37.25 hours per week, $50–$60 per hour, and potential extension based on business needs and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Full ownership of the month-end close process.
• Experience with financial reporting and external audit support.
• Form 990 and/or Form 990-T preparation or support within a nonprofit or tax-exempt organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while partnering with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the month-end close process and ensure timely close activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and schedules.
• Perform account reconciliations and detailed analyses for accuracy.
• Coordinate and support external audit activities and documentation.
• Review consolidation processes and related reporting.
• Conduct GAAP research and provide recommendations on complex accounting matters.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
