Job summary

BrainWorks is seeking an Interim Senior Payroll Accountant to manage the full payroll and payroll accounting duties for a Denver-based technology company on a 3- to 6-month basis. The role is hybrid in Denver with an ASAP start and an hourly rate of $50–$55.

This position requires a flexible, results-driven candidate ready to hit the ground running. Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 3 years of progressive accounting experience including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct experience with payroll accounting.
• Experience with reviewing payroll reports for reasonableness.
• Experience with multi-state payroll (including CO and CA).
• Experience with calculating wage capitalization, payroll tax compliance, and payroll & benefits accruals.
• Experience with UKG or other similar payroll systems.
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables and Lookups).

Responsibilities

• Cover full scope of payroll and payroll accounting duties.
• Maintain multi-state payroll compliance for CO and CA.
• Review payroll reports for reasonableness and accuracy.
