The Chicago Lighthouse is seeking an Interim Principal for the Children’s Development Center in Chicago, IL. This role leads instructional programs, ensures compliance, and partners with districts to support students with diverse educational needs.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Professional Educator License with LBS1 or VI/Deaf/Hearing endorsements, administrative credentials, and at least five years of teaching experience with prior leadership roles.

Qualificações

• Must hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1), Teacher of Students who are Blind or Visually Impaired, or Teacher of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing endorsement.
• Principal, director of special education, or general administrative endorsement.
• Master’s degree in education from an accredited college, with a major in special education or related field.
• Minimum 5 years teaching experience, preferably in special education.
• Prior administrative experience required.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and data-based problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide leadership and supervision of CDC operations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive special education services for students.
• Manage curriculum, instruction, and staff development.
• Lead youth transitioning strategy and recruitment efforts.
• Monitor compliance with state and federal guidelines.
