Job summary

Fulton County Schools in Atlanta seeks a seasoned educational leader to serve as principal overseeing elementary, middle, or high school operations. You will set the school’s tone and uphold district philosophy while shaping an effective educational program.

You will lead staff, manage budgets, supervise personnel, and build strong relationships with families and the community to support student achievement and well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education is required.
• Must hold or be eligible for the Georgia Leadership Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of successful experience in public school administration and at least 3 years as a classroom teacher.
• Ability to organize programs, personnel, and activities for productive learning.

Responsibilities

• Sets the general tone of the school.
• Coordinates parent groups such as PTA and the School Advisory Committee.
• Represents the school to the community at large.
• Collaborates with the assistant principal, counselors, and faculty to align with the District’s goals.
• Prepares budgets and approves expenditures; signs checks and purchase orders.
• Ensures financial solvency of the school.
• Interviews, hires, supervises, and evaluates school personnel.
• Establishes rules for student conduct consistent with Board policies.
• Identifies strengths/weaknesses and implements corrective actions as needed.
• Prepares 5-year projections for goals and objectives.
• Oversees maintenance and upkeep of facilities and grounds.
• Maintains professional growth through ongoing learning.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator.
