Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead inpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacies on an interim basis. The role involves directing all pharmacy services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing staff licensing while collaborating with account managers and clients nationwide.

This position requires a PharmD or PharmD-equivalent and a current license in good standing, with extensive hospital pharmacy leadership and project management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Licensed pharmacist in good standing; California license preferred; additional state licenses preferred.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience required; retail and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
• Prior experience as director/manager/supervisor required.
• Experience in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations; proven project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct all functions of the pharmacy services.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain professional presence at hospital/client site and oversee staff licenses.
• Perform as Staff Pharmacist as needed; attend client kick-off meetings; oversee opening processes.
• Generate weekly status reports and ensure staff education is completed.
