• Responsible for the functions, activities, and training of the nursing services staff
• Assumes responsibility for the facility in the Administrator's absence
• Manages resident care 24/7 and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team
• Ensures residents receive skilled nursing and rehabilitation services as needed
• Plans staff development programs and conducts periodic reviews of nursing care documentation
• Participates in budgeting and staffing for nursing services
• Supervises, counsels, and disciplines nursing personnel
• Participates in admissions screening and plans resident care with physician involvement
• Maintains knowledge of current Health Department Directives and ensures compliance
